A "Hog Roast" was held at Marshes Farm, Westhoughton on 23rd. June, 2007 which was hosted by W.Bro. Ray Dainton (who at the time was the WM of
Westhoughton Mark Lodge No. 1006) together with his wife Joan. Music was provided by the Rob Dainton Trio who on this occasion were joined by
Mr Munch Manship - a renowned saxophonist. It was attended by the Provincial Grand Master - R.W.Bro Peter Connelly together with his wife Lynn.
The event raised a profit of £2,000 which was forwarded to the West Lancs Mark Charity who, in turn, decided to give the total amount to
Birtenshaw Hall School to help with the developement for the schools project on the expansion of the classrooms of the autistic unit. In addition
to this donation, the West Lancs Mark Charity donated an additional £3,085.51 to complete the balance of a "Stair Climber Project" which the
school had in hand.
