Welcome to The West Lancashire Mark Masons Web Site
Keith Beardmore
Brethren,
The new Mark Masonic Season kicked off in fine style with the Quarterly Communication in London on 12th September. This was the promotions meeting and almost 50 of our West Lancashire Brethren were in attendance to see our Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master Geoffrey Lee promoted to the very high rank of Past Grand Junior Warden with the title of Right Worshipful Brother.
W. Bro. Eric DrinkWater was promoted to Past Grand Senior Overseer, W.Bro’s Howard Emmett, James Rogers and John Waring to Past Grand Junior Overseer and W. Bro. Andrew Whittle to Past Grand Senior Deacon.
39 of our Brethren joined the recipients for dinner in the Grand Connaught Rooms.
Tuesday 19th September saw the Royal  Ark Mariner Provincial Assembly at the
Savoy Hotel in Blackpool with an excellent attendance to witness the investiture of the 2023 Provincial Royal Ark Mariner Grand Ranks.
Considering the dreadful weather on the day causing rail and road congestion throughout the Province almost all of the Brethren made it to Blackpool to enjoy the meeting and luncheon.
The new Mark Tie was launched at the meeting, a somewhat brighter pattern with a red background.
Our Mark Lodges have started the new season with a good number of advancements with University Mark Lodge having an emergency meeting to advance two candidates in addition to the two advance at the regular meeting. A total of 15 candidates will be advanced in September and I urge all Lodges to push for new candidates this year.
Don’t be reticent in asking your Craft colleagues to take up Mark membership, give them the QR codes business card and new trifold leaflet and then after a short time follow that up by inviting them to a Mark festive board and show them the “Magic of the Mark” There are over 5000 Craft Masons in West Lancashire who are not yet Mark Masons.
Likewise, we have 4 Royal Ark Mariner Advancements in September with more to follow in October.
50% of our Mark colleagues are not yet Royal Ark Mariners, let’s go out and find those new candidates. YOUR fellow Mark Masons.
Our focus this year must be on recruitment to make back the numbers we have lost through the pandemic years.

Enjoy your Mark Masonry

MARK WELL
