Welcome to The West Lancashire Mark Masons Web Site
|September is now upon us and a new Masonic season will soon be under way.
The summer has proved to be typical British weather with too few really sunny days and more than our fair share of rain.
|The Fun Day on 28th June was held this year at Wellington Park Leyland and how fortunate that the event had a hard standing for the rides etc. as the day was interspersed with some bright spell and heavy rain.|
|Thank you to everyone involved in arranging the event although the numbers attending were slightly disappointing, possibly due to the unsettled weather.
Thanks to Geoff Lee and the staff at Leyland for supplying bar and catering facilities and Tony Shaw and Co for manning the BBQ whose Burgers and Hot dogs went down a treat.
|Some of the Brethren thought the highlight of the day was seeing Dep PGM Geoff Lee and Myself in the stocks and were prepared to pay good money to throw water soaked sponges, all too good effect. This little affray (names of those involved have been noted) raised and extra £140 toward the days total.|
|The following weekend saw us at the MBF Festival hosted by the Province of Worcestershire and held at the magnificent Chateau Impney, on 4th July
14 Brethren and Ladies attended from West Lancashire, with the PRO Grand Master attending the event. It was especially good to see our Past PGM, Peter Connolly and Lynne with us for the week end. The Province of Worcestershire making a £561,000 donation to the MBF.
|On the subject of Charity Steve Walls and his team undertook their second Charity Bike Ride, this year from Hull to Liverpool, well done Steve, your fellow riders and support team for raising £3500 towards two Cancer Charities.|
|The summer has also brought sadness to the Provence with the loss of several Brethren including: W. Bro's Ian Taylor, David Lea, Graham Henry and Ronnie Goodyear all will be remembered for their contribution to Mark Masonry.|
|Now brethren it we look forward the new season with our first major date being the RAM Assembly at Leyland on 15th September followed by a RAM Team visit on 25th to Leyland RAM.|
|I wish Cloister Mark No 1475 well in their new meeting place at Stockport (albeit just across the border in Cheshire)|
|RW Provincial Grand Master.|
