Brethren, | ||||
As we reach the end of the Mark Masonic year we can look back with at a good degree of success in the West Lancashire Mark Province.
Fourteen Team visits along with celebration meetings gave the whole Provincial Team a busy year indeed and every Active Officer commented on the enjoyment and satisfaction of their year in Office.
We started the year with a highly successful Royal Ark Mariner Provincial Assembly at the Savoy Hotel in Blackpool and concluded with an equally successful Provincial Grand Lodge meeting in May.
The ceremonial procedures at both Provincial meetings was outstanding and drew a many compliments from our visiting distinguished guests. Thanks must go to W. Bro Arthur Robinson and the whole D.Cs Team for their hard work in keeping our
ceremonial procedures at the highest level. Both of these meetings have been scheduled for the same venues in our next Masonic season.
My call at Provincial Grand Lodge in 2023 to further our recruitment levels brought in 84 new members to our Mark Lodges and 30 into our Royal Ark Mariner Lodges, a really outstanding effort and it is my hope we can surpass that number this coming year.
However a small number of our Lodges still did not have a candidate in the last year and that is a fact that needs to be addressed by those Lodges. To assist in this I am proposing that each Special Representatives “ Group” hold a Mark presentation evening where all the Lodges in that area join together by bringing as many of their own members as possible and at least three Craft Masons per Lodge to the event. One of the Executive will come along to give a presentation on the Order and show the “ Magic of the Mark “ video.
By all the Lodges in the area participating it will offer a choice to prospective candidates on which evening and which Lodge suits them best to meet. Also it would offer other advantages of joining a smaller Lodge to move progress through the offices.
The first of these presentations will be in the Fylde area early in the new season but all Special Reps will be holding a presentation in the coming months.
The appointment of a Deputy to each Special Representative has taken off successfully and as anticipated eased the workload of each Special Rep. I thank each of the appointed Deputies for taking on this Office.
The Grand Lodge meeting on 11th June will see our new acting Grand Officers and Brethren receiving first appointments on the floor at Grand Lodge.
Brethren receiving promotions will do so that the September meeting. Please come along to both Grand Lodge meetings to support all of these worthy Brethren on the day.
The Executive continue to work exceedingly hard on a day to day basis to keep our Province at the fore of Mark Masonry. As one of the largest Provinces in the World it takes a great deal of effort and the organisation skills of the Secretariat is of the highest calibre which in turn helps the Lodge Secretaries in their duties.
For the Executive this also includes visits to other Provinces Annual meetings and although these are very pleasurable experiences they also require a great deal of time, commitment and travel on these visits, all of which are done at their own expense.
Brethren, continue to enjoy your Mark Masonry and let’s work together in strengthening our Lodges and the Province in the coming year. Mark Well
