MURRAY MARK Double Advancement
 
The February meeting of Murray Lodge of MMM No 490 saw a rare double Advancement when Brothers David Bliss and Alan Martin Morris became the newest members of the Mark Degree on 4th February at Pemberton Masonic Hall.
Once the general business of the Lodge had been completed the Worshipful Master Bro Mike Wright invited W Bro Terry Dickinson Prov AGDC, the Lodge DC, to fill the office of Senior Deacon as the invested Senior Deacon had been delayed at work. With all the Officers now in place the ceremony could begin.

Brothers Bliss and Morris were admitted according to ancient custom and as it was a double Advancement the Junior Deacon Bro Terry Worthington played an active role in guiding the second of the candidates around the Lodge.
Both candidates having retired as necessary, each one was then admitted singly for the middle part of the ceremony before jointly completing their Advancement. The dramatic music performed by the Lodge Organist VW Bro Ray Martland at the key points considerably enhanced the middle part of the ceremony.
The Working Tools having been explained by W Bro Terry Dickinson the Worshipful Master concluded by welcoming both candidates to Mark Masonry in general and Murray Lodge in particular.
 
There was just enough time for a quick picture before everyone retired to enjoy the Festive Board and the company of friends.
