Morecambe Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners. No.716
Jubilee Celebration 22nd April 2022

First let me apologise for not being able to complete a report for this meeting, the chain of events in the following days following it were as follows. On the Saturday following, I had an accident at the Metrolink Station at the Lowrey Centre in Salford following my Team playing at the Etihad, it was ironic really as I had said to one of my friends during the match, “you know what, watching City makes me ill” as a joke of course. I slashed the tips of two fingers, put a hole in my kneecap hurt my side and pulled a muscle in my stomach.
Next on the Tuesday I was just about recovering when I was reminded that I promised to take one of the members from my Mark Lodge for his 4th Jab, he is 92, oh well I promised so I picked him up and took him to the Urmston Masonic Hall where we have been doing jabs for over 12 months, whilst I was there they asked me if I wanted to have mine, I said yes of course. (Big Mistake). Again, that night I went to watch the Real Madrid game, I started to not feel very good, got home and started to freeze.!! As the next day progressed I became unresponsive, eyes closed and just got worse, Linda had to phone 111, they said he needs an ambulance and they organised it. I knew mothing about it and came round late in the evening in Salford Royal and asked what am I doing here?
Had all the usual tests, blood etc, it wasn’t fun, later the next day the registrar after studying all my previous medical information and an in-depth discussion with his team came to the conclusion that the most likely reason for me becoming so ill was the Moderna injection.
The RAM meeting was brilliant, W.Bro. J. Henry Mayor W.C.N. stayed in office for yet another year, two not one Candidate were Elevated, the Treasurer W.Bro. John Rimmer RAMGR demonstrated the signs and exchanged the Passwords, the Nine Steps were explained by W.Bro. David Winder Prov S.W. A presentation of Grand Lodge Certificates followed to Bro’s Heath, Brown, Dowling and Heron.
The PGM and the W.C. gave hearty handshakes to all the Lodge members who will all receive a  50 year jewel in the near future, the 50 years Jubilee Warrant was read out and will be displayed at all future meetings W.Bro. John Rimmer gave a  short resume of the Lodge History, unfortunately a lot of the documents have suffered the same fate as those of Morecambe Mark and disappeared, having said that he did give us all some interesting facts. A cheque was presented to the PGM for the amazing sum of £716.00 which said was an amazing amount and will be well received and put to good use. Another amazing fact before closing was that present at the meeting was W.Bro. Roy Turner RAMGR.
Sorry for the delay but I can tell you that everybody present had a great evening, and a great meal served by excellent friendly staff, I have added some pictures to record to Celebration.
