Semper Fidelis RAM No. 880 Installation 10/11/2022 |
The above Lodge held their Installation meeting on Thursday 10th November at The Masonic Hall Fleetwood. In attendance and representing the RW Provincial Grand Master was W.Bro Geoffrey Michael Bury RAMGR. Who, on this special occasion was accompanied by 5 other members of his own Lodge, being Morecambe RAM No.716, led by their Worshipful Commander Bro. David J. Winder. More about this visit later. |

The Commander, W.Bro. Dennis Smith opened the lodge asking the brethren to stand for a short period of silence with respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11. |
The general business of the meeting was conducted in a speedy fashion leading to the main event on the Summons, to Install Bro Tomas Lawrence Egan as Worshipful Commander. |
Installing Officers were appointed, this included the Commander of Morecambe RAM who acted as IG. Within the Inner Workings W.Bro. Dennis Smith conducted the ceremony in a modest and correct fashion and placed Bro. Thomas L. Egan into the Commanders Chair. |

The Inner Workings completed Bro. Thomas Lawrence Egan was proclaimed Worshipful Commander of Semper Fidelis Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.880. |
The W.Commander appointed and invested his Officers and when completed W.Bro. Dennis Smith gave the address to the Commander in fine style. |
This was followed by a presentation of the Exposition, given by W.Bro. Geoffrey M. Bury RAMGR. |
With the ceremony complete W.Bro. Bury gave congratulations and best wishes of the PGM to W.Bro. Thomas L. Egan thanking him for taking on the role of Commander, also congratulating W.Bro. Dennis Smith for an excellent ceremony and the DC W.Bro. Alan Fairhurst for managing the proceedings. |
The Commander, in thanking W.Bro. Bury, presented him with a charity Cheque for £250. A wonderful donation to West Lancashire Mark Charity Fund. |

After the meeting we had very enjoyable Festive Board, were the DC kept order to a fine art enabling a reasonable departure time. |
During the Board the Worshipful Commander of Morecambe RAM Bro. David J. Winder presented the Travelling Porphyry Stone to the Commander of Semper Fields Lodge, who’s responsibility it has now become to present the stone, hopefully in the near future, when he visits another RAM Lodge, and thus it will continue its journey round the Province. |
The Porphyry Stone came to life at the Mark Grand Ball in October 2021 when the PGM presented the Stone to W.Bro. Mullen of Furness RAM No 375. |
Subsequently Furness RAM presented the Stone to Morecambe RAM whose members now wish it well and a safe journey as it travels around the Province. |
