The Sparkle Bean Trust

A little while ago our RW Provincial Grand Master was in the company of Bro. Chris Upton, a Mark Mason since 2015, who is the Headmaster of The Tarleton Community Primary School. This is the school attended by the youngest victim of the Manchester Arena Bomb, a young girl called Saffie.
Her death had considerable impact on her fellow pupils with mental health issues to the forefront. Chris has set up a Charity called the Sparkle Bean Trust to support these young children and has published a book as part of his fund-raising efforts. As Special Rep for Ormskirk and Southport Lodges I was asked by the PGM to approach my Lodges to see if any small but valuable donations could be made. Despite competition from the Ukrainian Appeal efforts, the sum of £400 was raised which the West Lancashire Mark Charity Fund matched.

I was delighted therefore to deliver a cheque for £800 to Chis Upton today. This was extremely well received and much appreciated.

Brethren, a fine example of our Charity Fund in action!
