Liverpool & Garston Grand Officers Lunch 21 August 2025

14 Grand Officers from the Liverpool & Garston lodges, with Deputy Special Rep Sandy Kean in attendance, gathered at the Artists Club, Eberle Street, Liverpool on Thursday 21st August for an inaugural luncheon of what is to be hoped will become an annual event.
This was an informal and relaxed get-together (as evidenced by several attendees not wearing ties as now allowed under the revised club dress code!).
Starting out in the Club bar with an obligatory (low calorie) G&T, the attendees transferred to the dining room for an excellent two course meal followed by cheese & biscuits under the austere gazes of the portraits of the past club presidents!
This wouldn’t be the Artists Club if the meal wasn’t accompanied by the house white and red wines, allowing for a very pleasant afternoon, evidenced by the photos including some of the wonderful Artists Club team who looked after us so well.
Giles Berkley reflected briefly on the sad loss of Syd Ford, well known to us all as an energetic and dedicated Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Mason, before giving a short summary of the key events of the last season, and what we have to look forward to in the next season whose commencement is of course imminent!  Membership numbers are very encouraging, with much interest being expressed in joining our very friendly and special degrees. Visiting other lodges can only be to the good, making new friends and enjoying the meetings and festive boards.
The next stops are Grand Lodge at Great Queen Street, London on 9 September, followed by the Provincial Royal Ark Mariner Assembly at Westhoughton on 16 September.
