With a shortage of members attending that night, the Lodge DC, WBro David Rawcliffe soon put wiling visitors into the missing officer’s positions. VWBro Maurice Evans, the PGM’s Special Rep for the Ormskirk and Southport group of Mark Lodges took the Senior Wardens Chair and Maurice’s Deputy, WBro Roy Hedges, took the role of IPM. The Lodge’s, WM, WBro Ivan Hicks is unfortunately still unwell and so WBro Derek Gaskell took the chair.

Part of the business of the night was a successful ballot for a join member, WBro David Kemp. WBro Gaskell welcomed David into the Lodge and presented him with the by-laws of Ormskirk Priory Mark Lodge. Next up was the election of officers for the ensuing year.

WBro Cliff Boynton was declared Master Elect; and WBro Graham Radford was declared Treasurer. VWBro Fred Hargreaves then presented an informative and entertaining lecture on the formation of the modern-day Mark Degree. This included the fact that in Scotland the Mark Degree is still seen as part of the craft in Scotland you cannot join the Royal Arch unless they are members of the Mark.

During the first rising VWBro Maurice Evans, presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to Bro Lee Need. With the Lodge closed it was time for an excellent festive board.

We wish the members of Ormskirk Priory Mark Lodge, No 1019 a good summer and that they return in numbers in November for the Installation meeting and hopefully an advancement ceremony.
