West Lancs Mark No 65, open with an advancement |
|
Liverpool Masonic Hall opened its doors for the new Masonic season on 1st September and on the 3rd West Lancs Mark No 65, welcomed the new season with an advancement ceremony. With Liverpool Council’s new parking arrangements around the Masonic Hall the Lodge meeting did not get off on time.

When everyone had managed to park and the candidate had arrived; the Worshipful Master, WBro John Smith got things underway. With a successfully ballot for the candidate Bro Myfran Anduyan, WBro Smith asked WBro Derek Gaskell to take the chair to conduct the ceremony.

WBro Gaskell was ably assisted by WBro Eric Poole, acting as the Senior Deacon at short notice and WBro Dave Richards acting as Chaplain at even shorter notice. At the end of the ceremony Bro Myfran Anduyan, was welcomed into West Lancs 65 by the Worshipful Master and into the Mark Degree by the PGM’s special rep for the Liverpool group WBro Steve Walls.

Steve welcomed Myfran and presented him with a letter from the PGM and a £10 off voucher for next year’s Provincial Grand Lodge meeting which will be held in Blackpool on the 16th April 2026. When WBro John Smith was back in the chair he declared Bro Alan Ray, Master Elect and WBro Eric Poole, Treasurer Elect for the ensuing year.

With the Lodge closed it was time for many members to rush off and extend the time on their parking tickets. (Thanks very much Liverpool City Council!) Then everyone was able to sit down and enjoy the festive board. We wish West Lancs Mark 65 a good season and Bro Myfran Anduyan many enjoyable years in the Mark Degree. Just a reminder, the Royal Ark Mariner Assembly, will be held on16th September, at Westhoughton Masonic Hall.
