It was actually still light when members and visitors started to arrive, which makes a change. The first order of business was to sort out the lodge room; to make sure that we could get everyone in and that there were enough chairs. When that had been done there was the minor problem of making sure that there were enough offices to open the Lodge? VWBro Arthur Robinson, Prov.G.DC, did his rehearsals to make sure that everyone knew their place in the long but narrow lodge room.

With all the tinkering done and rehearsals over it was time for the WM, WBro David Waddington to open the meeting. The first item after the opening was an In Memoriam for Most Worshipful Bro John Herbert Prizeman, Pro Grand Master, who passed to higher service on 22nd January 2026. WBro Waddington read a short eulogy and then all stood in respect to departed merit.
Everybody
With the minutes approved it was time for VWBro Arthur Robinson, ProvGDC, to appear and announce the Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Team. The gavel was then offered to RWBro Keith Beardmore and was accepted but handed back to the Worshipful Master rather the PGM introduce his team on this occasion due to the cramped space in the room. Once the salutations had been completed, WBro David Waddington invited WBro Roger Boyle to take the Chair and act as the Installing Master.

WBro Boyle then placed his offices, before the acting DC, WBro Derek Gaskell presented the Master Elect, Bro Wayne Warnick to the Installing Master for the benefit of Installation. WBro Roger Boyle performed and excellent ceremony which was enjoyed by all. WBro Boyle also presented the working tools. WBro Derek Gaskell gave the Keystone Jewel presentation. The Master then appointed and invested his offices. With the appoints complete, the Provincial Grand Senior Warden WBro Chris Walls who is a member of University Mark Lodge gave the address to the Master and then turned round and gave the address to the Wardens. Both of these were  done in an excellent manner. There was no address to the Overseers, as there non present. RWBro Keith Beardmore then gave an excellent address to the Brethren. With the ceremony over, RWBro Keith Beardmore stepped forward and congratulated WBro Wayne Warnick on taking the chair for the first time. And he also congratulated WBro Roger Boyle on the high standard of the ceremony.

WBro Wayne Warnick in return presented the PGM with a couple of cheques for charity which were gratefully received. Before the risings RWBro Keith Beardmore asked the provincial DC to present WBro Philip Kavanagh to him in order that he could present Philip with his MBF collaret and jewel. This was met with applause from all the attendees.

Before closing the Lodge WBro Wayne Warnick, thanked all the visitors who had stepped in at very short notice to fill vacant officer positions. With the Lodge closed it was time to dine. One of the long traditions at Liverpool University Mark Lodge Installation meeting is that there is always copious amount of wine at the festive board. In response to the toast to his health, the PGM thanked the Lodge for the welcome they had given him and the team. He also invited WBro Wayne Warnick to the Mark Provincial Meeting in Blackpool on 15th April.

He also congratulated University Mark Lodge on the way they are rebuilding the membership of the lodge and warned against apathy that might occur in some of the larger lodges. We wish WBro Wayne Warnick and University Mark Lodge a happy and successful year.
