"What a Party"

On Saturday 14th January Bispham with Norbreck Mark Lodge held their Ladies Night at the Savoy Hotel, Blackpool.  The Worshipful Master, Brother Giles Berkley and his wife Sandra, welcomed almost 100 guests, who dined in fine style to a 4-course meal.  Wine was taken with all the "right people", including Masters of 3 other Mark Lodges who were present.  The Ladies Song was given by the evenings entertainer, James Anderson : a professional singer, who has appeared in a number of well known musicals.  For the Ladies Song he was accompanied by Bro. Shaun Haynes, who is WM of Imperial Mark Lodge [Installed at Poulton on 2nd December - at which there was a Team Visit]. Each lady received a lovely gift of a bejewelled notebook and pen.

The WM Giles and Sandra were delighted to be accompanied by 6 personal guests, 10 members of their family, the PGM R.W.Bro. Peter Connolly and Lynne; the Deputy PGM VW Keith Beardmore and June [+8 others from Fylde Lodge]. W.Bro. Terence Hudson [APrGM Craft] who is a Senior Past Master of Bispham with Norbreck and his wife Sonia gave their support - and the new Vice Chairman [Des] of the Craft Group - W.Bro. John Turpin [who is not yet a Mark Mason!] and Joan were also warmly welcomed.

After some wonderful "Songs from the Shows" - a happy 2 hours dancing was enjoyed by [nearly!] all present.

Thanks and congratulations are particularly due to Sandra, her mother Barbara and friend Julie for the beautifully crafted menu, place cards and table decorations : they were stunning and must have taken hours to complete.

Everyone enjoyed their meal - but the PGM particularly recommends the Broccoli and Stilton soup.
