The West Lancashire Mark Executive attend the

Mark Province of North and East Yorkshire’s Provincial Meeting

The weather was fine and dry as the runners;
  R.W.Bro. Peter Connolly PGM;
  V.W.Bro. Keith Beardmore Dep.PGM;
  V.W.Bro.Mike Clarke Asst.PGM and
  W.Bro.Ian Nairn Asst.PGM,

made their way to York Racecourse on Saturday  the 5th May 2012.

The one member of the executive who was missing, being the Prov.G.Secretary W.Bro. Geoff Lee, he being declared a non runner at an early stage.

The runners assembled in a covered paddock at about 10 am to partake of coffee, tea and biscuits , and to chat with other visiting distinguished guest runners and to familiarise themselves with the surroundings; which were in the top  floor of the grandstand overlooking the finishing post. (see picture below).

At approximately 10:45 am each set of Provincial  runners were assembled in line by individual stewards in preparation for processing into the Provincial Lodge meeting. Each Province was  then introduced individually by the Prov. Director of Ceremonies of North and East Yorkshire, W.Bro. A. Burke.

A well rehearsed and well organised ceremony then followed led by the Provincial Grand Master for the Province of North and East Yorkshire, R.W. Bro. Eric Gore-Browne.

After the lodge meeting as usual the runners had to cool down slowly so it was a case of gin and tonics all round, followed by a high quality meal at the festive board, and not a bale of hay in sight.
As in every case of having a really good time it comes to an end too soon and we hit the road home at approximately 5pm after having a fantastic day out representing all the members of the Mark Province of West Lancashire.
