Grand Lodge 13th March 2012

The quarterly communication  of the Grand Lodge of MMM was held at 86 St James's St. London on Tuesday 13th March.  Our RW PGM, Br Peter Connolly was pleased to be accompanied by 14 brethren from our own province of West Lancs, most of whom are shown on the attached photographs.

This meeting is usually over in 20/30 minutes. However the Grand Treasurer and Grand Secretary gave reports to aid transparency of GL affairs.

(1) The Grand Treasurer thanked PGM's for the lodges' response to last year's levy: and asked that this be passed on to all the membership. GL finances are now back on a firm footing. The catering company is in profit for the current year.

(2) A recent article in the Telegraph (and circulating) refers to a court case. This is not news brethren, it has been going on for two years. The  GLMMM has entered a full defence AND  counterclaim.

(3) All visiting between GLMMM of FRANCE and ourselves is suspended: as in the  Craft situation.

You might think that this would give our WL brethren plenty to talk about during the evening: instead we concentrated on a delicious 4 course meal; enjoyed each others' company and the camaraderie: and tried to keep pace with the waiter serving some rather good wine.

The meeting finished in time for brethren to catch their last trains home.
The next meeting of Grand Lodge is the Investiture  in June.

Bro's. Alan Bibby, Michael Walker, Tom Jackson and Chris Mc Nab also attended, but were unable to dine.
